How instructions work
An instruction is a thought that asks Cortee to update the open page instead of adding a new fact. Cortee detects instructions on its own, and while they change the content of the page you have open, they do not move pages in the sidebar.
Types of instructions
Cortee supports several kinds of instructions:

| formatting | Visual changes such as bold text, italics, tables, or list items. |
| rewriting | Updates to style, tone, or clarity. |
| layout changes | Organizing content into lists or tables, or splitting paragraphs. |
| structure changes | Managing chapters, grouping related thoughts, or splitting thoughts apart. |
Examples
- Make the requirements a bullet list.
- Rewrite this page in a shorter, more formal tone.
- Turn the steps into a table with columns for step, owner, and output.
- Split the troubleshooting section into its own chapter.
What instructions do not do
Instructions do not move pages in the sidebar, and unsafe instructions are not executed.
